July 10, 2025 - Welding Instructor
OMTC is seeking applications for an Welding Instructor for the 2025-2026 school year. The successful candidate will be passionate and knowledgeable about training students in Welding Technology. Responsibilities include:
- facilitate instruction and demonstrate advanced techniques in welding
- manage the classroom/shop to ensure a productive and safe learning environment
- prepare students for AWS welding certification
- build strong relationships with industry and post-secondary partners
- coordinate SkillsUSA activities for students
The applicant must be able to obtain Teacher Certification through one of the following paths:
- Verify a Bachelor’s degree or higher in an area appropriate for the subject area being taught and four thousand (4,000) hours of DESE-approved, related occupational experience obtained within the most recent ten (10) years.
- Verify an associate’s degree in an area appropriate for the subject area being taught and five thousand (5,000) hours of DESE-approved, related occupational experience obtained within the most recent ten (10) years.
- Verify six thousand (6,000) hours of related occupational experience obtained within the most recent ten (10) years.
**Additional coursework will be required through University of Central Missouri to receive teaching certification.
